Fair Trade Friday | Women’s Ethical Fashion | Fall 2018 Line
This week I'm featuring our Fall 2018 line! These were some of the products that I was given at our annual Trades of Hope conference in August! Last year during Black Friday sales, the Scarlet Clutch was released for 50% off, so only $21!! It was so gorgeous and I had to have it, even though I wasn't sure if it would ever make it to our catalogs as a product that we carried longer term. I grabbed one right before they sold out (in ONE DAY!) and I was so impressed with it once I received it! I was so excited when it was officially released in our Fall 2018 line and made sure we got some photos with it along with my other new Fall 2018 items! Scroll down to learn more about the artisans who made it!
Luke went for a walk around the Rosen Shingle Creek resort while I was in some of my sessions and found me these unique steps to get some photos on. They remind me of Mediterranean decor, which is my fav! I've trained him so well. 😉
I love these leather sandals I bought directly from Deux Maines in when I was on my Vision Trip in April. The soles are made from recycled tires! They actually employ both Haitians and people from the Dominican Republic who have been displaced on the Haiti border.
Here I'm showing off our Horizon Earrings, which are actually part of our Spring 2018 line, but they matched the new pieces so well! They're so light, versatile, and under $25! What more could you need?!
In India, poverty is rampant and fair working conditions are hard to find. But with every purchase, women are receiving an income, access to healthcare, adult literacy programs, and self-help groups! Not only does this change their lives, but they are also pouring back into their communities and helping others! You have the opportunity to empower thousands of women in India!
The Prima Sari Necklace is also made in India, and tassels are so in right now! Because it's made with upcycled Saris, every piece is different and you get a unique set of colors each time! How fun is that?!
A trio of upcycled sari fabric beads are accented with a swaying golden tassel. Pairs perfectly with the Prima Sari Earrings and Prima Sari Bracelet (Sold separately).
Here's a good shot of the Renewal Leather Cuff. I have very small wrists, so I fasten it on the tighter button and it fits me very well! Yes, I got to meet the artisans who make this cuff in Haiti, and learn all about the art of Haitian leatherwork. They don't kill animals for their leather, but rather use the hides that are leftover from the meat they eat. They don't waste anything there... they can't afford to!
Locally sourced Haitian leather is stitched with grey, blue, cream, and gold embroidery threads creating a unique pattern on this snap closure cuff.
In Haiti, where work opportunities are scarce, we partner with women to create change through design and job creation. With every purchase of their jewelry, men and women are empowered to receive these jobs in a family-like environment. You can be a part of them receiving an income, health care, emergency loans, educational resources and counseling! Your purchase brings about generational change!
Last but certainly not least, is the Scarlet Clutch. The quality and detail on this little bag is breathtaking. I am honestly surprised that it's as affordable as it is! I carried this clutch a lot during the wintertime last year, due to the deep colors it has. I felt like it really "fancies up" a little black dress!
Embroidered with warm vibrant colors, this zippered cotton clutch includes a wristlet, red leather tassel, and an interior zippered pocket.
In remote areas of Thailand, we focus on restoring the strength of women in their country as artists. Your purchase empowers a diverse people, from the Karen Hill tribe, the Thai people, and the Hmong women. In this area, jobs are limited. Many women to move to the city to find work and have to leave their children. Your purchase will help mothers stay in their hometown and earn an income, allowing them to take care of their children and watch them grow up!
The pool area was empty and I was dying to take some photos there, I love the pop of color the water added to the outfit!
