Hey, I’m Tawny!

I'm a free-spirited, kind of hippie, other-culture-loving, Vespa-obsessed mid-twenties girl with a passion for ending global poverty, abolishing sex trafficking, and keeping mamas with their babies. My husband and I strive to advocate for & pursue a slower, more ethical lifestyle, so I created this blog as a place for others who are passionate about world change to connect with Fair Trade artisan women (and men) around the world & help them support their families.

This rich shade of burgundy has been in this season, and I'm here for it. This Elva Scarf from India has been a go-to for me this fall, especially tied in my signature way so I can actually wear it in this Florida heat. 🙃

It pairs perfectly with the Cranberry Tassel Bracelet from Haiti.

& Then I stacked the Patina & Indian Rose Bracelets because one is just not enough.

The charming necklace & northern lights charm, Minimalist Earrings, Voyager Bucket Bag from India, plus the Thrifted hat & dress just finish this look off perfectly. 🤌

I'm still in my Wizarding World era & it ever so slightly gives me those vibes. ✨

The rain boots because we were fresh off a hurricane when I wore this look. 💧

I told Jouleycie I would wish her a Feliz Cumpleaños on her birthday, so I'm keeping my promise! 🥰🎂

She was in training last month when I was there visiting the @bateygirls workshop, but she's officially part of the team now that she's an adult!

It's exciting to see another girl, a young woman, who was rescued from trafficking be able to step into a safe, fair wage job in an empowering environment. She's going to be able to make her own income, save, dream, and pursue higher education.

Her two year old daughter is not going to have the same experience her mother had to go through. The generational cycle of abuse, trauma, and trafficking will be broken. 💪

It's humbling to be part of this work. ♥️ Through selling bracelets, like the Ocean Agate one I'm wearing, and the Hope Girl ones that have newly landed in my shop, we can not only pay these girls, but support the safe house, and more rescues.

This is the power of shopping Fair Trade pieces. This is the power of a Job. 💙

One month ago today, I was in the Dominican Republ

One month ago today, I was in the Dominican Republic with @tradesofhope , visiting the girls we support in the trafficking safe home, and our adult artisan girls at the @bateygirls workshop. 💙

I took this first OOTD video in the workshop, because I knew it would be a special memory look back on. 🥰

I'm wearing a super full bracelet stack from @tradesofhope with my Patina Clay from Haiti & Ocean Agate from the DR. You can see that by the end of the night it had grown by a lot, including the Hope Girl Bracelet I custom made with the girls in the workshop that day, and a few more the girls back the safe home had made me. 🥰 Every time we came back to the house from being out, the girls were putting new bracelets on our wrists. It was the sweetest thing, and I'll always wear & remember them fondly. ♥️

I also added a new pair of Larimar earrings in my second hole & a Larimar ring. Larimar stone can only be found in this region of the DR. 💙

My outfit is thrifted, and the rest of my accessories are made in India:
Minimalist Earrings, Orphan Prevention Necklace, Noa Necklace, & Onyx Sling Bag.

My sister gave me this skirt & (Anthropologie!!) one shoulder top she Thrifted, and I'm LOVING THEM. My favorite secondhand leather belt just ties it all together. 🤌

I thrifted these heels at @topbuttons & they're such a great color. 🥰

Accessories are all Fair Trade from @tradesofhope , my staple Leather Bucket Bag from India, Patina Clay bracelet made in Haiti, Indian Rose Bracelet, & the Gold Everyday Minimalist Earrings have been one of my newest go-tos. 😍

I wore this to a women's conference on one of the like..3 cooler days we've had so far in Florida this Fall. 😅

October took me to the Dominican Republic on a life-changing trip with @tradesofhope , where I was filming OOTDs on rooftops, beaches, & in the @bateygirls workshop. I think it's going to take a while to top that honestly. 😘

It also brought in cool temps a couple days after the Hurricane (remember that? 😅) where I got to actually wear some Fall looks. 🥰

I hosted a Murder Mystery Dinner Party & got a second wear out of one of my favorite thrifted dress scores ever. 😍

A lot of these looks have yet to grace my feed, but they're coming! 👀

My church OOTD. 🍂🍁 I was going for Fall vibes since next weekend it's pretty much time for Christmas. 🙃

I love that it's getting cooler here in Florida & I can start wearing my skirts again! They make it seem like I tried so hard even though they're super comfy and easy to slip on. ☺️

I love the way wearing them makes me feel! 👸And they're made by sewists in Togo, West Africa who can support their families thanks to the Fair Wage Job they have making them! 🥰

I finished off the look with my Fair Trade @tradesofhope accessories, like my Bucket Bag, Indian Rose Bracelet, & Sari Hope Hoops, (and my retired Esther Necklace, the first TOH piece I ever owned ♥️) all made in India.
My other bracelets are made in the DR & Haiti. ♥️
