If you’ve been following along with my ESL teacher saga, you’ll know that back in August, a bunch of the Adult ESL teachers were cut, including me. I had quite a large class every Tuesday and Thursday night, and the program was growing, so it was quite a shock to me.

A few weeks before being cut, we had recently visited the new Spanish service at our church, and learned that they were starting a new ESL class on Wednesday nights. I told them I wanted to check it out and would love to help out in any way!

Last week was their 2nd week, and my first chance to stop in and see what it was like. I had been praying about where & how I could fit in, and didn’t want to step on any toes, but really felt that God was calling me to go and get involved.

When I walked in, I introduced myself as an ESL teacher who wanted to possibly volunteer. I talked to one of our pastor’s wives who was put in charge of leading it, and she said she had been praying for God to send someone with ESL experience to come teach, or even lead it! I noticed that the textbooks they were using were the same ones I’d been using this past year and a half.

After a few minutes chatting with her, she said, “You’re teaching next week.”

Well.. I don’t think God could have made it any clearer!

I was the teacher on Wednesday night. I love that I’m able to incorporate the Gospel into my lessons a lot more than I was able to in public school.

I keep wanting to call this a “full circle moment”, but I know this is just the beginning, and God is going to do SO MUCH MORE with it than any of us could have imagined. I’m expectant to see what He does.

When He calls you to do something, just say “Yes!” and the details will work out later. I’m thankful for the opportunity, the desires and skills He has given me, and that I can use them for His glory. ❤️️

P.S.- Another “Godwink” is that my new Quest Convertible Backpack from @tradesofhope showed up hours before my class. It was the PERFECT bag to fit my textbooks, Ipad, & other supplies, and I was able to wear it in this little “first day of school” pic by my classroom. I'm OBSESSED. 😍
