As always, Trades of Hope Compassionate Entrepreneurs get the first look at the Trades of Hope Spring Collection as well as first access to purchase the Fair Trade + Ethical goodies at 50% off for the first month after the launch!

The Spring 2020 concept is inspired by the rich architectural beauty of India. Taking inspiration from the elaborate jeweled inlays and motifs of the Taj Mahal to the invigorating colors of the Pink Palace in Jaipur, this collection is intended to take a refined approach to Indian culture and beauty. As the name suggests, our line will feature a variety of semi-precious gemstones and ornately detailed patterns.

Throughout the line, colors will favor peach and pink with accents of aqua chalcedony and warm neutrals. Blues should be used in conjunction with warmer tones and gold will become the dominant metal of the season. While statement earrings remain a significant trend staple, layering dainty bracelets, small earrings, and necklaces continue relevancy into Spring 2020.

My Fav. Trades of Hope Spring 2019 Earrings

Bella Earrings

You all know how much I love my statement earrings, so I'm loving BOTH of the new earrings in this line created by our Asian partners! I had no idea that wicker was in this season until these babies were released!

Heavenly Earrings

Our Bella Earrings and Heavenly Earrings are inspired and created by women breaking free from the brothels of North Asia. These women are learning so much more than how to make jewelry. As fair-trade Artisans, they’re learning how to overcome the trauma they’ve experienced and become designers, managers, and business owners. Every step of production touches the life of a woman with a name, face, and story.

Two of these women who make the Bella and Heavenly Earrings are sisters, Bay and Ling. Their work ensures they can continue to rise out of sex trafficking.

These sisters are not alone in their empowerment through dignified employment:

  • Design Artisan, Jenny researches trends, develops ideas, and gets feedback to help plan production.
  • Sourcing Artisan, CiCi, researches and orders affordable quality materials for each piece.
  • Material Quality Control Manager, Bee, inspects the color, size, texture, and construction of incoming raw materials to make sure they meet required standards.
  • Countless Production Artisans assemble the raw materials into the beautiful pieces you wear.
  • Quality Control Artisans examine each piece for proper construction.
  • Packing Artisans package each piece to ensure safe shipping.
  • Quality Control Artisan, Nina, checks each piece one more time before shipping.
  • Shipping Artisans count and box each shipment.
  • Finally, Ning prepares the documentation and sends each shipment to Trades of Hope in the U.S.

Each time you wear our Bella Earrings and Heavenly Earrings…

You can know the names of the women whose lives you’ve touched.

You can know the stories of the survivors whose lives you’re changing.

You can know the Artisans whose futures you’re building.

You can know your purchase matters.

Indira Earrings

“Indira” means “beauty”. These statement earrings are sure to “wow” with bold and elegant matte-pink shapes inspired by India’s royal palaces. Indira Earrings are crafted from ethically collected bone.

Our new Indira Earrings are made by women in Mosmeen’s community.

“I was married off at a very young age to a man from another village who deserted me with three children. I’m happy that I’ve become independent. All three of my children can go to school, and I’m also able to support other female Artisans in my village.”

“To take care of my children I had to work hard. The work I received as an artisan helped me to stand on my feet and gave me new confidence to face life. I am proud to say that today things have changed for the better. We have our workshop and are able to provide opportunities for other women in my village. We are empowered as we earn our own money. We could not go to school but we can now send our children to school. It gives us strength for tomorrow. This is only made possible through fair trade and Trades of Hope.”

::THE IMPACT::
This bracelet was made by women in the Dominican Republic who are breaking free from sex trafficking ‘ domestic abuse. The D.R. is home to the third fastest growing sex-trafficking industry in the world. In the D.R., 1 out of every 5 girls is a victim of sexual violence before she reaches the age of 15, & domestic abuse is a leading cause of death among women.

Beyond all of these facts & statistics are real women with real stories of exploitation & trauma. Every Larimar Stone Bracelet has a name, face, & story behind it. Every story is a story of survival, healing, & hope for a victim of human trafficking or domestic abuse. Floral Wristlet

I absolutely ADORE this new wristlet, and I'm sure a lot of you will as well! I also conveniently shared it sitting next to our new Blush Rabia Bag as well. India is home to one-fourth of the world’s poor. But Millennials are overcoming generational poverty as Artisans, combining traditional block printing and leathercrafting skills with contemporary styles and designs.
